Born in Schwerin, she joined the Marcuse and Reichenbach families through her 1872 marriage to Adolf Reichenbach.
Goldine Marcuse was born in Schwerin on 8 February 1850. The family Ahnentafel names her parents as the merchant Louis Marcuse and Johanna Cohn and carries the Marcuse line one generation farther into Schwerin.
On 27 July 1872 Goldine married Adolf Reichenbach in Schwerin. Their son Paul’s 1876 Halberstadt birth entry names both parents and provides an independent civil record of the marriage and household.
After Adolf’s death in 1900, Halberstadt’s 1905 address book lists the widow Goldine Reichenbach at Kaiserstraße 32. She died on 12 October 1913.
A family belief has long suggested a distant connection between this Marcuse line and the philosopher Herbert Marcuse. A comparison with published accounts of his parents and grandparents found no point of connection. The belief remains part of the family’s remembered genealogy, not a documented relationship.
