The son of Paula Reichenbach and Georg Wollenberg, named in Halberstadt’s record of the family business and deportation.
The original deportation list identifies Hans I. Wollenberg as born on 3 June 1907 in Eisenach. This resolves an earlier name-match question and corrects the museum tour’s 3 August date. The Berend Lehmann Museum identifies him as Paula and Georg Wollenberg’s son.
The 1938 Halberstadt address book lists Hans as a merchant associated with J. Reichenbach and places him at Moltkestraße 11 with Georg. By April 1942, the transport list records Hans and Paula at Westendorf 15, the former Jewish school converted into forced collective housing.
Yad Vashem item 6719646 preserves a parallel three-page Halberstadt deportee list. Frame 2 records Hans immediately beneath Paula at Westendorf 15 and gives his birth date as 3 June 1907; the same frame lists Kurt Reichenbach at Dominikanerstraße 23.
Hans and Paula were forced from Halberstadt on 12 April. Their train left Magdeburg on 14 April and was recorded in Warsaw on 16 April. No individual record now in the archive documents Hans’s life or death after arrival.
