Adolf’s brother and the documented bridge between the Halberstadt and Wernigerode branches.
A Göttingen civil marriage record names Salomon Gustav Reichenbach as a merchant born in Halberstadt, resident in Wernigerode, and the son of the late Halberstadt merchant Jacob Reichenbach and Helene née Heynemann. Gustav and Adolf were brothers. The two households were one family.
Wernigerode had long restricted Jewish residence. A published history based on municipal records places Gustav among the first Jews admitted under Prussian authority in 1874; the 1876/77 address book records him at Breite Straße 697, today No. 7.
He married Jeanette Rosenbaum on 4 June 1883. Their only son was Fritz. Gustav later registered the Wernigerode firm and served as its managing director, while Jeanette remained its owner and the person whose initial stood over the shop as J. Reichenbach.
