Fritz and Martha’s son, who escaped Germany with his wife Margarete and rebuilt life in Brazil.
The Wernigerode birth register and a published history identify Werner as the son of Fritz and Martha Reichenbach, born in Wernigerode on 13 March 1914. This corrects a later solicitor’s mistaken statement that Fritz and Martha died childless.
Werner and his wife Margarete escaped in 1939 and survived in Brazil. His Stolperstein at Breite Straße 7 records the essential arc: „Flucht 1939 — überlebt in Brasilien“ — fled in 1939, survived in Brazil.
Family records report that he died in Brazil in 1992 and never returned to Wernigerode. Information concerning living Brazilian descendants remains protected from public display.
